The short version: this website doesn't track you, our apps keep your data on your device, and we never sell personal information.

1. Who we are
Eiderlane LLC ("Eiderlane", "we", "us") is an independent software studio that designs, builds and publishes apps and websites. This policy covers this website, eiderlane.com, email you send us, and the apps Eiderlane publishes, currently Ruminate. Products and websites we've designed or built for others, such as those on our Work page, are covered by their own owners' policies.
2. This website
eiderlane.com has no accounts, no forms, no analytics scripts, no advertising and no tracking. Our fonts and images are served from this domain, so loading a page doesn't contact Google or any other third party.
3. When you email us
If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use them only to reply to you and to keep a record of the help we gave. Our email is routed by Cloudflare and stored with Google, which provides our mailbox.
We never add you to a mailing list because you wrote to us, and we don't use your message for marketing.
4. Our apps
We design our apps to work on your device and to collect as little as possible. Each app's listing on the App Store shows its privacy details, and the section below describes each app we publish.
When you buy an app or a subscription, Apple processes the payment. We never see your Apple Account, card or billing details; the app receives only whether your purchase is active. Apple gives developers sales reports that don't identify you. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may give us crash reports and aggregate usage statistics under Apple's privacy policy.
5. Ruminate
Ruminate, our voice journal for iPhone, is coming soon to the App Store. It's built so that we never receive what you say to it.
- No account and no tracking. Ruminate has no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking.
- Your journal stays on your iPhone. We don't run a server for the app and never receive your recordings or entries.
- Processing happens on the device. Ruminate's features run on your iPhone rather than in the cloud.
- Purchases go through Apple. The app checks with Apple's App Store whether you've bought Pro. That check carries none of your journal.
A full description of what Ruminate stores on your iPhone, and the permissions it asks for, will be published here when the app launches.
6. Sharing and selling
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with the email providers named above, to run our email, or where the law requires us to, for example in response to a valid legal order.
7. Security and retention
The personal information we hold is protected by the security of the providers above. We keep support email only as long as we need it to help you and keep a record of that help. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including in California, the European Union and the United Kingdom, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to object to how we use it. In practice the only personal information we hold is email you've sent us. To make a request, write to [email protected]. We won't treat you differently for making one. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
